Nima Mirzaeian

PhD Student

Nima is our latest catch. He is a materials science PhD student joined us in summer 2019. He holds a master’s in Engineering Technology from the University of Houston where he built a remarkable background in complex fluids and suspension mechanics. His doctorate project is focused on cytoskeletal active matter, particularly, he studies the underlying physical principles for mitotic spindle formation and faithful chromosome segregation. Ideally, he expects to develop high-resolution computer simulations of the spindle that accounts for activities of motor proteins and dynamic instability of microtubules.
