Physics of Soft Living Matter

Intersection of soft matter, fluid mechanics, and cell biology

About us:

We are a curious group of scientists and engineers who love math and physics and are fascinated by the beautiful complex world of cell biology.

We use theoretical and computational methods from fluid dynamics and soft matter physics to study self-organization and mechanics of cellular structures. Most of the problems studied in the group are tied to specific cellular functions and how structural and mechanical aspects affect those functions, and are done in close collaborations with experimentalists.

To summarize, in addition to using physics to understand biology, we use biology as a treasure trove for discovering new problems in transport in active soft matter.
